Puppy Love

I am so thrilled to introduce you all to my beautiful new little niece, Kilo. At just five months old, she is already one of the smartest, sweetest pups I've ever met. I love spoiling her with goodies like this colorful bow collar Oh Joy for Target and had so much fun taking her pictures! My best friends adopted her just a couple of months ago and, needless to say, we are all head over heels in love with this little girl.

Keep scrolling to see more furry cuteness and learn more about the awesome way that Kilo came into our lives!

While my friend was serving our country in the Air Force over in Kuwait, they adopted this little pup. My bestie, Korinne spent so much time and effort getting all the things that Kilo would need when she arrived in her new home.

Because of their efforts, and her sweet spirit, Kilo is adjusting very well in the good old USA! Korinne showers Kilo with so much love and affection. She really is the best puppy mom.

Looks like someone was a little sleepy after a day of playing in the park with all of us and modeling for our photoshoot. Kilo was such a good sport! Her stylish little raincoat is also from Oh Joy for Target.

Please join us in welcoming Kilo Marie! Check out the gallery below for more.

TSO Loves: Kimothy Joy

I recently came across an artist named Kimothy Joy through her Instagram account last week and fell in love with her artwork and her message of equality and empowerment. When I saw these illustrations I couldn't get over how beautiful and powerful they were. I was so impressed by the fact that Kimothy took such simple imagery and created such moving pieces from them. If I'm ever lucky enough to have a little girl one day, Kimothy's art will absolutely be hanging on the walls of her room reminding her that the future is bright and her potential is limitless.

Mounds (Bounty) Bars with a Healthy Twist

IMG_1754.JPG

Erin Ireland is one of my favorite food bloggers. I love her healthy take on life and the awesome recipes she serves up. I found a great recipe for a vegan twist on Mounds bars on her Instagram story last week. Mounds bars are one of my favorite candies (possibly my favorite) so I loved the idea of a healthier version. Erin found the recipe on VoilaVegan.com, so check out her site, too.

Okay, let's cut to the chase.

The Ingredients

2 cups desiccated coconut
1 can coconut milk (only the solid part)
4 tbsp agave or maple syrup
1 cup vegan (dark or milk) chocolate
1 tbsp coconut oil

The Instructions

  1. In a food processor blend the desiccated coconut for a few seconds, then add agave and coconut cream and blend until slightly sticky. Quick tip: Place the can of coconut cream in the refrigerator the day before. This will make it easier to separate the solid portion from the liquid.
  2. Shape bounty bars with your hands and place them on a cookie sheet in the freezer for 20 minutes.
  3. Start melting the chocolate over low heat with coconut oil.
  4. Once it is melted, dip each bar into the chocolate and make sure it is evenly covered with chocolate.
  5. Place each piece back on the cookie sheet and freeze for another 30 min.

A Few Fall Favorites

Fall is one of my favorite seasons. From the weather to the foliage it is such a beautiful time of year in New England. Since it's been a while since my last post (apologies — it's been a hectic couple of months) I wanted to gather some photos of my fall must-haves to share with you!

These Coal and Canary candles are incredible. The smell is beautiful, the crackling sound of the wick is so soothing and the packaging/design is perfection.

Anyone who knows me knows that Inslee is one of my favorite artists. She creates the most stunning illustrations. They are modern, fun and the perfect touch for any home or office. My best friend and I buy her calendar every year and we always have a variety of favorite months. October was definitely one of mine. The rich colors and stylish girls make it a perfect accent for my desk.

There's a great local market near our home that I love. They have the freshest fruits, veggies, meats and even homemade pasta. It's delicious but dangerous! Every fall they have the best selection of little white pumpkins. Because most of my decor is all-white-everything, these babies are the best way to bring some fall into our home.
